Just ask us.

What are the benefits of working with a Chartered Accountant?

A. Anyone can call themselves an 'accountant', even if they have no qualifications or experience! Members of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales can only join having had to spend several years in on-the-job training as well as passing tough exams covering taxation, company law and accounting principles.

If they want to set up in practice offering their services to the public, Chartered Accountants need to have gained several more years of experience and have adequate insurance to protect clients against professional negligence. They also have to show each year that they are keeping up to date by committing to a scheme of continuing professional development.

OK, but why would I choose MMO specifically?

A. Unlike most other companies, we provide you with one point of contact who is a principal of the practice. This means we can build close working relationships with our clients and gain specific knowledge of their business.

I’ve never had a close working relationship with my accountant! Have I just been unlucky?

A. Unfortunately, we hear this all the time and honestly believe it is not helpful to your business. This is why we encourage our clients to sit down and have an open discussion with us about their commercial activities.

How far does your advice extend? For example if I was looking to sell the business is this something you could help with?

A. Yes indeed, we have a most active acquisition, disposal and merger consultancy, and no company is too small to consider this as an option.

Do you work with individuals as well as businesses?

A. Yes we do, particularly in the area of tax advice when it is beneficial to obtain advice if you are embarking upon something may affect income tax, capital gains tax or inheritance tax.
